Floor polishing tips?

Looking at my oak floor, it needs a polish. Could anyone give me any tips or recommendations on what wax is best? Wax paste or liquid?

Ta Fluffy, for being the lone voice in the wilderness Probably should've posted this in AIBU... It's only the downstairs, and not exactly stately home proportions, so might just try liquid wax and an old t-shirt.

My knees already hate me! The noises they make when going up the stairs are horrible! WIBU to tie dusters to the cats' feet and make them dance on it instead? Earn their keep a bit?
