Shark or alternative vacuum cleaner?

I've been looking at cleaners for a while. I have mainly laminate flooring but one room is carpeted. I have 1 cat who sheds quite a bit so that's a factor. Also def. want an upright. I have looked at 2 different sharks, the shark lift away and another that has an extra attachment for pets. On the verge of buying now but having last minute jitters about it.

Have looked at others like roomba too but ruled that out. Want the best I can get for no more than £150 (which is the price of the shark). Any ideas or anyone likes the shark and can recommend it or otherwise please?

I have the Shark Liftaway. The best vac I've ever had. I've had hoovers, vax, Dyson, Henry, Electrolux.... the Shark one is FAB!!!!

Great thanks- looks like the shark may be the one to go for after all!

@alakazam7 did you get the Shark? It looks like our Dyson might have bitten the dust (hoho!). Kids now both have asthma diagnosis so I’m looking at Shark as one of the cheaper vacuums with HEPA filtering. It seems to have good reviews, too.

I have a shark. I brought it as a gift for my 30th because I'm sad. It is actually my favourite thing in the house. I've had it 4 months and everyday I Hoover and am astonished by its performance.
I got the rocket true pet, the one with the headlights! I have hard tiled kitchen floor, carpeted upstairs and laminate in lounge. Goes between all 3 with a flick of a switch.
