How to clean/sanitise marble?

I'm planning on making a traditional larder.

I'm looking at options for finding a reclaimed marble slab, but am concerned about cleaning it.

Any ideas?

Warm soapy water and buff it with a cloth. Don't use harsh cleaners or anything containing acid or it will get etched.
