Dead rat smell.

I've just got into work (office) and it absolutely stinks of something dead. We had rats outside a few weeks ago and poison was put down so I assume its the bodies. Can't actually see anything but they could be in the walls/floor/hidden all over the place.

My bosses are now away on holiday til the end of August. Is there anything I can use to mask the smell until I can get someone in to get rid of the bodies? I'm 17 weeks pregnant and this is not helping my nausea one bit.

Speak to the pest control company?

It'll go but it'll take a couple of weeks unfortunately. There's not a lot you can do except open windows and I found Dettol Neutro Air spray very good.

The pest control company may have a good idea of where the corpse is so it can be removed.

The pest company will probably try to sell you some bags of stuff to hang up that are meant to remove the smell. They might absorb some of it but not enough that you would want to be on the premises.

Removing the corpses is the only way to remove the smell, otherwise depending on the weather they will decompose and dessicate in up to 2 months - I found this out early this year when something died in a place that no-one could get to. Shut the door to the room and opened the windows.
