olive oil spilt on raw (recycled) teak table

We have an olive oil spill on our new teak table that sticks out like a sore thumb. It was blotted immediately as much as was possible & washed after. Next day it was sanded - no good, it still shows. Any ideas or are we doomed. The table was v ££

I would try oiling the whole table teak oil.
