sunscreen on white shirt

My partner has a lovely white shirt (97% cotton 3% spandex/elastine) which was really expensive. The first time he wore it, he also had sunscreen on and it now has yellow marks all over it. He put it through the washing machine, but it didn't get rid of the marks. I've tried soaking it (in Vanish oxy-action), and the marks faded slightly, but are still quite obvious.
Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of yellow sunscreen marks and bringing the shirt back to bright white?
Thanks!

I posted about this exact same problem a few weeks ago, and got some amazing advice. I'll admit I haven't tried it yet, but one thing recommended was soaking the stain in white vinegar. Apparently this type of stain is similar to rust, so a stain remover designed to remove rust stains should also work apparently. I can't remember what my thread was called, and also don't know how to post a link! Confused

My thread was 'Anyone know how to remove yellow stains from sun cream?'

I swear by stain devils (maybe the one for grease/curry?) which I used successfully. About 2 quid on Amazon.

@NuzzleandScratch thank you for the advice - will check out the thread! (And let you know how I go with the vinegar!)

Whatever you do don't use bleach. The stain will go red - I found out the hard way.
