I'm not sure there's a solution but...I bought some really beautiful Mexican painted clay mugs, got them home, washed them and had a coffee in one and realised they really smell! They're basically unusable. They are glazed everywhere except the base, but the insides smell.
I've tried washing more thoroughly but to no avail - does anyone know anything about this? My partner has googled but couldn't find anything.
