Stain on a silk cushion

Agh !
Bought some gorgeous silk cushions in the sale only a few weeks ago - to which my sister said 'you must be mad ' as I have young DC .
Anyway after some visitors left yesterday I realised one has a stain which I sadly think may be toddler snot ..
googling isn't giving me any confidence in my chances of removing it but has anyone got any advice / experience ??
The shop has sold out too so I can't replace it easily !
Gah !!

Use a cloth and some cold slightly soapy water. Wring the cloth out well and gently rub the stain in a circular motion - you don't want to remove any dye or damage the fabric. Use a clean towel to blot the damp area well afterwards. You might get a water mark, in which case cleaning the whole cushion cover might be necessary.

It worked ! I just tried not to let it get too wet and it has dried with no sign of stain or water phew !
Now I just need to find out whether it is a good idea to scotchguard it ..

Oh fab - result. I know that if you have marks on silk and take it for dry cleaning, they use soap and water on the marks first.
