How can I clean these trainers please??

I have pure white canvas dc trainers but the inside is bright blue.... I think the blue will run if I put them in the washing machine. Any ideas??

I've seen something somewhere about using toothpaste to clean white trainers - run it on with an old toothbrush, then sponge/brush it off after a while. Might be worth a quick google to double check it though....!
