Oil stain - any ideas on how to remove?

There's a big stain on the inside of a kitchen cupboard, and I'm pretty sure it was caused by some kind of oil - possibly cod liver or somesuch. I can't remember exactly as it's been there years not lazy at all

No amount of scrubbing at this stain shifts it. Any ideas on what could be used to remove it? It's very sticky, too

Sugar soap. It's brilliant stuff. Wear rubber gloves though as it's very drying on skin.
