Maggot infestation

I know this sounds gross but I think we have a maggot infestation

A about a month ago when it was really hot our bin lid broke so we kept the lid off the bin in the kitchen. Then when I went to empty the bin I left it by the front door to take out. About an hour later I went to take it out and there was quite a few maggots on the floor. I was so freaked out that I could t clean them up. My DP cleaned it up but said he couldn't be sure we'd got them all because I had left it there for an hour.

I have now come home twice in the past month to find about 20 to 30 flies all over the window. It makes me freak out thinking about it.

We are not dirty people and actually the total opposite so it's frustrating this has happened as I make an effort to keep everything clean.

We have searched high and low, moved furniture, hoovered, beached. Everything! But we can't work out where they are coming from.

What can I do to get rid of them if I can't find them? It's making me not want to come home.

Help!

No advice really, but i would have thought a thorough clean would have removed it, as adult flies would only lay maggot eggs on a food source (like more rubbish/rotting food) wouldn't they?

If you have cleaned everything, can only suggest a professional pest control, unsure if they deal with maggots though.

I use bin buddy powder (got off amazon) in my wheelie bin to kill off/deter flies/maggots in the summer. Not sure if that helps your situation, but it really works.
