I've just got back from holiday and noticed these bugs in the back garden! Can anyone tell me if they are June bug type things or cockroaches Envy

I can't see any evidence of them in the house but there are a few outside quite near to the backdoor

They are beetles.

Thanks wowfudge I have been frantically googling but I can't find a picture that looks exactly the same as these ones but I think it may be a type of aphodius?? beetle

I'm just happy they aren't cockroaches

I've added a close up picture of the little blighters in case anyone knows exactly what they are (and for further reassurance they aren't cockroaches Blush)

Looks like a summer chafer, harmless garden beetle.

Cockerchafers - also known as Billy Wickets in Suffolk - harmless but annoying when they bash around the lamps!
