How to get foundation out of a dress

DD has managed to squirt foundation over a new dress. I've washed it but the stain is still there. It's a light fabric so I'm wary what to try.

I've also posted in chat. Didn't know where was the best to ask!!

Washing up liquid rubbed into the stain before washing again might help

It's been washed with a stain remover that states it gets make up our. The foundation is still there Blush

You need something rubbed into it I think as it's an oily stain. Washing up liquid or one of those laundry soaps could work.

Facial cleanser/make up remover can often work before washing

Stillwaitingforsummer · 24/07/2017 20:50

Ooh I'll try make up remover.

I watched a video on Instagram last week where a girl used shaving foam to remove foundation marks from her collar. Might be worth a try.

Shaving foam is my tip. Works beautifully.

DH had shaving gel. Do you think that will work the same?

For future reference, use cold water and white soap on stains. Hot water (washing machine) ingrains some stains. I used white soap, cold water and a toothbrush to get mud stains out of a wedding dress.
