Hi, is there any way I can restore this silver spoon to its former glory? I think the heat from the dishwasher is what ruined it - it's not normal tarnish. Thanks!

Silvio? I have teaspoons that look like that after repeated use/dishwasher cycles and Silvo always brings it up. I just dunk them in the dip

*silvo not Silvio!

Stop putting them in the dishwasher for starters. You can clean them using foil in a dish and adding vinegar and hot water - it creates a reaction that lifts the tarnish off.

I used toothpaste just before Christmas when I wanted to clean a silver bowl. I took a tiny amount and rubbed it with a cloth. It shone magnificently and strangely has remained bright and clean ever since! Don't know the advisability of using it often but I had no Silvo so found this solution on the web. It worked so quickly and without the usual dirty mess that Silvo makes.
