dd has gone at hers one too many times with her crayons.

has anyone successfully cleaned one of them as it says no detergent etc and the crayon just isn't coming off with plain water.

oh and she spilt juice on it too so half of it's stained orange!

I just wipe mine with kitchen spray cleaner and a kitchen sponge. And I don't let them play with it while they have food/drink etc.

Also I try to put it away as soon as they've finished playing with it. Easier said than done!

I was wondering where you can get replacement pens actually. I've emailed Tomy. Maybe ask them how to clean it??

PinkTulips · 25/03/2007 13:15

does the spray cleaner not damage it then?

we have no storage at all so there's nowhere i can put things away that she can't just haul it straight out.

the juice was actually the first time she used it, it was her birthday so we qwerre being lenient, lol!

Don't think so.
I just put it back in its box and then slide it on its side in a space next to a cupboard in playroom.

Could it go on a shelf or behind the toy box in its box?

Sorry didn't mean to sound bossy and a no-it-all before.

PinkTulips · 25/03/2007 13:24

no shelves, no toy bow. all her toys are piles as neatly as possible at the back of the room and her art stuff is under the little table all her books are on. there's no where in the room she can't climb to reach so safer all round to have things within reach.

don't worry you're not sounding bossy. it annoys the hell out of me to have nowhere to put stuff as i need stuff to be but away neatly for my own sanity. we're counting down the days til we can move out of this crappy flat!

Thats good

Will you have more room in the new place??

PinkTulips · 25/03/2007 13:54

haven't found one yet, waiting for housing needs assesment to go through so rent allowance will let us move, we need a 3 bed and this flat has a huge flight of stairs up to the front door and no garden so not good for kids. they'll let us move but all the annoying paperwork will take weeks to go through

at least we'll be out of here by summer though

NorksBride · 26/03/2007 14:13

Thanks MN. I've been dithering over whether to stick ours in the washing machine or not. It looks gross!

BonyM · 26/03/2007 14:15

You can buy replacement pens on the Tomy website.

viticella · 26/03/2007 14:17

I got a second aquadraw pen from Ebay, about £4. Because the 2 DS's were fighting over the one pen. Thanks for the tips about washing, will have a go this afternoon!

princessmelTingChoccyEggs · 26/03/2007 16:58

BonyM, I tried that but they didn't have any on there that I could see.

So.... I emailed them and they are sending me some replacement ones!! Result!!

BonyM · 26/03/2007 21:17

If anyone else needs them - here is the link . They've gone up 50p since I bought some last month!

PinkTulips · 27/03/2007 14:29

just to let you all know i stuck in on a 30 degree quickwash yesterday and it worked brilliantly, it's all shiny and new looking.

it took from yesterday evening til this afternoon to dry but works just fine now, dd has tested it lol!
