Nail varnish on carpet

On holiday and my 10 year old has spilled fucking blue nail varnish on the fucking brown carpet. How do we get this out? Doesn't have to be perfect but we need to make it unnoticeable.

How much nail varnish? I would try to work from the outside in and remove as much as I could of the nail varnish.

If it is dry, try scraping it off. If it is wet, very carefully use remover, working from the outside in. Baby wipes are usually my Go To for stains. I can't promise that nail varnish remover won't be a mistake.

Another option might be to paint over the spill with something brown.

Hairspray gets ink stains off clothes if that's any help.
Vodka or vinegar might be worth a try. Bit smelly though.

I'm so so cross with her, she has been told dozens of times that nail varnish stays in the bathroom. Sent DH on an urgent trip to Walgreens and he procured some carpet stain remover which with a LOT of scrubbing and rinsing has lightened the stain considerably. Kids are off to bed now so will repeat in morning. Thank goodness for American shag pile carpet which is much more forgiving than UK carpet.

Oh we've all done it. Well I have.
You might be able to trim the shag.
Good night and good luck.

Shave the carpet

Use nail varnish remover.
