Ink marks on chairs

I have faux leather cream dining chairs which, as the table is used for paperwork and homework have got pen marks on them. I have tried to remove with a damp cloth to no avail - any suggestions please?

I'm used hairspray to remove ink in the past. Hope that works for you!
