Important visitor arriving at midday on Friday. It must all be done.

I am a procrastinator

Main issues:

-I have a mountain of clean laundry to fold and put away

• the two toilets the DC use are starting to reek of urine. It has obviously soaked into the vinyl flooring (I have bollocked the pair of them for pissing all over the place! ) how can I get rid of the smell?
• just mess everywhere!

It probably looks worse than it is. But I know me, I dawdle and get distracted and before I know it it's midnight and I have nothing down. Ugh.

We're doing major tidying and decluttering and cleaning this week because we've got a flat inspection next week. While I hate these inspections (hate hate hate them) it does mean that me and dh are both on the same page and both work together to get all the tidying done! We've done a load of decluttering this morning. We chucked out 5 carrier bags of rubbish/broken toys. That felt great. I've wiped down the plastic storage drawers and boxes. Floors have been swept and I'll mop them later. I've been amazed at the decluttering once I started and moved ahead with it, it got easier to make decisions and to really start enjoying the decluttering:)

Good luck on your clean up! I reckon you could put a load of bleach on the toilet flooring surely that would neutralise the smell?

It feels much more satisfying to read about housework than actually to do it. I've been gearing up for a massive clear out and cleap up for weeks...

I'm having a tidy/clear out/ clean today too. I have put away the clean washing and put another load on. I'm about to dust and hover up stairs. I only have anothet 2 hours to dedicated to it today. but going to get as much as I can done.

I have put the laundry away and another one is in the machine to be hung up. Have tidied the kitchen. But no proper cleaning done. Must put phone down and get stuck in!

I'm in the middle of a declutter myself. I'd tidy first op and do a quick spritz on the bathrooms. Then a proper deep clean at a later stage.

Open all the windows
Put bleach in the loos and leave it to do the work
Get a empty laundry basket and fill it with stuff that needs putting away. Tip it out On a made made, put everything away
Dust all surfaces
Vacuum everywhere
Wipe down cupboard fronts and work tops
Clean loos, then sinks, then taps
Mop floors
Done!

Re the urine stains/smell, if it's very bad you'll need an enzyme cleaner.
You can get these from supermarkets in spray form, although they are meant for pets lol

I feel like I have laundry coming out of my ears. Some in machine some in dryer, two loads hanging up and loads to put away!
I quite like these threads it inspires me to make lists rather than feel overwhelmed
