Hello ladies. I couldn't help but notice that a previous thread had been posted on the discussion of having a cleaner and what to reasonably expect them to do. As a cleaner myself i think that maybe i could possibly answer a few questions for you. Firstly you need to ask yourself how much you could achieve in the time provided....two hours may seem a long time but a bathroom alone can take twenty minutes. Hoovering and mopping all take longer than most people think too, your 'clutter' may seem all part of your everyday life but for a cleaner moving that clutter can take up precious time.....so can washing lots of dishes, sorting out recycling and folding clothes. As for what you pay your cleaner, i think that £8.00 per hour is far from enough....what other trade would be in your house for two hours and walk away with £16.00? I have been in the profession for a number of years and have seen lots of houses in all kinds of states and yes there are good and bad cleaners but please remember we are NOT miracle workers.....seven days of mess can not been made into a palace in 120 minutes!
