How to get perfume smell out of clothes

I can't get the smell of eau de toilette out of DPs clothes. He uses Fahrenheit if it makes a difference. I've used a hot wash/bio liquid. I've tried scrubbing Vanish into the smelliest bits which helped a bit but the smell was still there.

Anyone know what's the best way to remove? It's his work uniform so it's cotton/polyester I think.

Hang it outside.

Perfumes are often alcohol based so the compounds might be soluble in alcohol but not water. Maybe soak in a vodka/water mix?

Out of interest though, why do you want to get the smell out? I would assume that as a perfume it's a nice one!

I want to get the smell put as it smells a little stale after it's been through the wash. Its not unpleasant exactly but not as nice as smell as when it's first used. It hangs outside in the summer and it's not removed the smell although I might try drying them inside out and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've not got any vodka in. I could try gin but he's a hcp - probably best if he doesn't turn up to work smelling of alcohol! :-)

Soak it in white vinegar for as long as you can, then wash.

Spray with Frebreez then hang on washing line to dry .
