Cleaning a heated towel rail

It's the worst part of cleaning the bathroom!

Is there an easy way? Some miracle products I can use? It's chrome and either looks dusty or streaky Angry

Bump! (also clueless)

MargotLovedTom1 · 02/07/2017 01:04

I just get a damp microfibre cloth and wipe along each bar.

finnmcool · 02/07/2017 01:05

Toilet tissue when you're having a poo.
Mine is next to the loo though Grin

OytheBumbler · 02/07/2017 01:05

Mine is also getting rusty underneath all the bars so watching with interest.

Mind you, 1am on a Saturday night is probably not the best time to bump this thread!

MargotLovedTom1 · 02/07/2017 01:06

But with the cloth wrapped round the bar, so I'm gripping it well iyswim. Sounds a bit rude.

MargotLovedTom1 · 02/07/2017 01:08

If you get rusty bits then scrubbing with damp scrunched up tin foil works MIRACLES.

Yep, Saturday night rocks Wink.

QueQueQue · 02/07/2017 01:10

I hang my socks to dry on ours so dual purpose with dusting 👍🏼

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/07/2017 01:11

Barkeeper's Friend gets rid of the rust.

Ontheboardwalk · 02/07/2017 01:21

Am I the only person who sees the 'hot don't touch' in hotels and does it anyway?

MrsJayy · 02/07/2017 01:24

Baby wipes or whatever bathroom wipes and wrap it round and it will clean up fine then a duster to dry it i hate my towel rail it is a pita to reach up and clean

MrsJayy · 02/07/2017 01:26

I do the gripping thing margot does .

Poppins2016 · 02/07/2017 08:15

Glass cleaner works wonders on chrome and stainless steel.

To remove light rust, dip a damp sponge in bicarbonate of soda and gently rub over the rusty spots.

RoganJosh · 02/07/2017 08:16

Damp cloth and then dry cloth. Lasts about two minutes before it gets new marks though.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 02/07/2017 19:15

White vinegar sprayed onto microfibre cloth, each rung (doing the grippy thing) then the ends.
