chacha hello and welcome
Well you can post a list if you like...lots of us do, a to do list and a done list, it helps you keep track of what you are doing and what has to be done.
The link on the first post of the day gives you an extra mission to do each day.
The FLY website has lots of good advise and tips and routines on keeping on top of the housework (but it really up to you how much of it you take on board) For most of us, the mission and this thread each day keeps us on top (just about )
Give it a go and see how you like it

MadameSleepsLessAndLess · 22/03/2007 10:16

Welcome chacha

learningtoglide · 22/03/2007 10:17

Morning routine done here! That is to say:

2 beds made + 5 min room rescue for each bedroom
3 ppl up and dressed
all breakfasted
small child's teeth cleaned
laundry rebooted (wash on)
washing up rebooted (dishwasher set going)
3 hotspots done (as in something done for each to get them tidier/cleaner or keep them that way).

Afternoon/daytime routine things to do next are:

make bread (bread machine, not me!)
deal with post
do some work (as in my job)
clean a bit of the kitchen floor
4 more hotspots (2 are kitchen ones repeated from am routine)
have lunch
reboot laundry and washing up again
unpack any bags if we've been out (but we're not going out today)
start dinner (last)

So it's going well so far. Well done to everyone else, some people have done so much already!

ChaCha · 22/03/2007 10:22

Thanks

Well, DS1 is 15 months old and DS2 just 5 weeks so getting through my To-Do list is proving somewhat challenging.

So far:

  • Nappy sacks collected from upstairs rooms - was a busy night in the nappy dept!
  • Baby laundry all collected and in their laundry bag (not yet full)
  • Toddler's breakfast made
  • Playtime
  • Had 2 cups of tea!!! Baby sleeps on
  • Toilet/Sink cleaned

Still To-Do:

  • Wash dishes/Put away (D/W still broken )
  • Wipe kitchen counters down
  • Mop Kitchen floor
  • Pack lunch for DS2 (going to mum's)
  • Iron clothes (should have been done last night)
  • Hoover stairs
  • Hoover rugs, sweep floors
  • Put away a few toys in order to see floor
  • Put away mountains of clean washing that has been sitting here for over a week and getting bigger by the day

OMG - my list could go on forever, not sure how to break it down. By priorities i guess?
Oh help!! There's just toooo much.

Oh and strip bed thanks to DS2 puking over it last night.

flamey · 22/03/2007 10:41

Ivor - there's a pile of washing to be put away over there...

... and there

.... and there...

JustIvor · 22/03/2007 10:43

Blooming heck! I've been drying up since 8.30am without even a break for a cup of tea and a bikkie and she complains that I haven't put stuff away! [grrrr]

learningtoglide · 22/03/2007 10:49

Does anyone else watch How Clean is Your House? 11 am on More 4 I think, if it's not too distracting!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 22/03/2007 10:49

Hi and welcome ChaCha

I'm still battling in the office - have hoovered behind the desk, cleaned the desk and sorted out all the bits and pieces we keep on the desk. It's getting there - very slowly but the front end of the room is looking better....I'm trying to talk dh into the possibility of some decent storage in here - he's self-employed so there are lots of files to store which are spilling out of the cupboard we use atm....

I'm leaving it in here for now and going to get the beds made, clear the breakfast table etc before I collect ds.

Oh by the way...I'd like to do the whole Anthea thing...I'd love to go to her house and do all her little tasks!!! I'd like to pick up a few tips along the way...and get her folder and apron at the end too....the "sceptre of responsibility" makes me cringe however so she could keep that!
