DD & DH are both really bad asthmatics and I can't use those oven cleaner sprays etc

What can I soak all the bits in overnight to get them cleaner?

Gawd, there's an association of approved oven cleaners? Blimey, the things you learn. good links Janh, ta!

I use the ovenu firm and just wish their van didn't have the huge logo on it telling all my neighbours how much of a slattern I am

Very often they will send you a 10% discount off your next oven clean and I usually wait for this to arrive before getting them out again.

I get someone from Oven Wizard to clean ours every 6 months or so and it comes up sparkling like new.Apparently they don't use any chemicals, and the best bit is that it only costs £30.They are based in Bethnal Green.

Hopeitwontbebig · 26/03/2007 11:17

Is Ovenpride safe to use when pregnant?

Ammonia - put all removable parts in a bin liner with a cloth soaked in ammonia. Tape up, and leave overnight. Then rinse clean in the bath. It's fab

laura...how bads the smell...i remember my mum using something called 'scrubbs ammonia' as a child- and i seem to remember hating the smell!!!
has ammonia improved!!!

It does smell a bit, but I leave the bin bag outside overnight, then open it up and put the bits in a new bin liner before I bring them inside, so it's not too bad. Wear gloves, but that applies to most oven cleaners.
