Matt Velvet Sofa

We've got a lovely dark grey matt velvet sofa which has inevitably got some little marks on it from my 10 week old son - breast milk and sick, lovely! Have been wiped and usually followed up with a damp cloth but there are some faint marks still visible which I'd like to try to get out - but I don't want to make worse. Any ideas?

I had a sofa covered in a Designers Guild velvet in black. I knew it would show the odd mark but thought I could always sponge those off.
Sadly that is not the case. The velvet just shows a water mark. I wish the upholsterer had warned me.
