Non slip bathroom tiles - difficult to clean

About 5 years ago we had a new bathroom fitted and were persuaded to have non slip tiles on the floor (Young children at the time) They are very rough (like sandpaper) and shred any mop that goes near them so I have to scrub them with a brush, on my hands and knees. It is time consuming and messy. Any advice - products, cleaning equipment that might help? Might steam cleaning work?

What about a scrubbing brush with a handle? We have one we use for scrubbing moss off outside, but no reason why that wouldn't work on your tiles.

Thanks wowfudge - is it a long handle? Where did you get yours?- some I've tried have been flimsy

Watching with interest as I have the same problem .

I hate these tiles! We put them in DH's wet room as he is very disabled and liable to fall. The only thing I have found to work (apart from hands and knees and a scrubbing brush) is a very elderly carpet washer / floor scrubber / floor polisher. Used with the scrubbing brushes and then a very light mop over (to lift up the filthy water) is the best solution I have found.

I've got this! Pain the arse. A deck scrubber is a scrubbing brush on a long handle. They're cheap and easy to buy in Au., sure there'll be a version in the UK.

We don't have sandpaper tiles but I imagine a steam cleaner might be good?

I have a steam cleaner but I find it isnt great for floors generally as you really need detergent to lift the dirt. I've gone back to an old fashioned mop and bucket with Flash.

I use a broom to wash the tiles ínstead of going on all fours. Quick ànd éasy

We have deck-scrub brushes in the UK too. Available from chandlers shops. But I find the deckscrub just leaves me with rolls of dust on the surface. Is there any way to get it up? I’m 70 and can’t do hands and knees.

Mops and buckets don’t work. The tiles shred the mops and leave bits of mop everywhere.

You need one of these. It attaches to a normal sweeping brush handle but has hard, short bristles
