help it stinks!

what can i do ?

When it's empty or is there unwashed stuff in it?

If it's empty and smelly then clean all the filters and run it through on the longest hottest wash with either a dishwasher cleaner or soda crystals or distilled vinegar.

How often do you clean the filters?

don't even know where the filters are...i've checked the main bit at the bottom and its clear and washed empty at highest setting with a couple of tablets
what does dishwasher cleaner contain? anything i may have in my cupboards?

Is the thermostat broken?

Should always do 60 or 70 degress, or else bacteria (= smell) not killed

And every dishwasher has a filter! Usually where the water drains out, somewhere at tge bottom, you can just pull them out
