How to remove limescale?

Helping my sister clean her house...and I've noticed these stains in front of and on the sides of the kitchen tap...I'm assuming it's limescale? How do I remove them? She has tried to remove the limescale from the bathroom sink, only for it reappear the next day. So she's feeling a bit stuck.

If she/you don't mind using chemicals, I've always found Viakal very good. There's a spray and a gel liquid. The gel clings to limescale and dissolves it. The spray cleans light deposits. It's fine to use on ceramic sinks, taps, shower heads etc. Not sure about marble and granite. Once cleared, I find a weekly blitz with the spray keeps everything limescale free.

Awesome Would the viakal gel work on marble and granite? She also has limescale around her bathroom taps. Will the gel help? And will it stain her taps/sink? She has CFS so I really want to help her as much as I can.

I've just looked and you cannot use it on marble/granite. It's absolutely fine on sinks and taps. Would white vinegar suit marble? I don't have any marble or granite anywhere so can't help on that.

Try method. They do a marble /granite cleaner.

White vinegar is good on limescale.

Drench a good quality paper towel in white vinegar and wrap it round. It will all wipe off in the morning.

Sorry I don't meant wrap it round. Just cover the limescale. I was thinking of my taps.
