After removing a paint stain with white spirit I inadvertently threw the tea towel I used to mop it all up into the washing machine (empty, but wasn't thinking). Later added normal washing forgetting about the tea towel. Horrid smells to clothes and am about to do a vinegar wash. Clothes on line after a second wash airing.out the white spirit smells.
The mistake was discovered after I put the lot in the dryer. I didn't smell the white spirit at that time but we certainly did after a while. Dry smelly clothes. We were lucky not to have a fire.
The windows to the utility and the tumble dryer doors have been open for 24 hours. I put the dryer on for a few seconds and it still really smells. Any clues on how to get rid of the dryer smells?
