Oh fuck have just ruined an expensive two using limescale remover

I'm kicking myself. I had a build up of limescsle underneath so splodged some toilet limescsle remover under it while I cleaned the bath. Have cleaned everything off and have now realised I've knackered the finish on the tap.

God I'm having such a shit day. Is it a goner or is there a magic product that might save it?

Have you tried using Bar Keepers friend? Worth a shot.

I've just used some and it has helped knock it back a bit. From googling it sounds s common mistake to make with limescsle remover and you basically dissolve the chrome. I'm going to just have to live with it now, grrrrr.
