Candle wax on clothes - safe for washing machine?

Managed to get candle wax on a couple of items of clothing - is it ok just to throw them in the washing machine as usual? Or is this going to damage the machine??

If not safe to wash as normal - any tips for getting the wax off??

Candles are not my friend Grin

Put some brown paper over the affected area and iron through it on a lowish heat, keep moving the paper until all the wax is gone. Alternatively if it is a blob of wax, you could try freezing the item of clothing and crack the wax off when it is properly cold?

I'd suggest freezing it for 15-30 minutes and then just peeling it off

Kitchen towel either side and iron it off.

It won't damage your washing machine, but it also won't come off in the washing machine.

Thanks, - freezing sounds like a good idea, but my freezer is packed to capacity and one of the items is a bulky cotton cardigan.....it badly needs defrosting. The freezer, not the cardigan.

Will have a go at the ironing suggestion.

Thanks all Smile

Ironing with kitchen paper works well.
