Any ideas what this thing is? We seem to have been invaded by the little blighters...

I have no idea but mint and lavender repelled most insects.

Looks like a mosquito. Have you any standing water nearby?

Oh no :( There is some water nearby, our garden has also got out of control recently which has coincided with their arrival.

That's not a mosquito, looks like a mayfly to me. Their lifespan is really short so they'll be gone soon.

Ah think you're right! Hopefully they will depart soon
