Mending a waterproof apron?

I have an apron which was mine when I was 3 (I'm now 26), it's done the rounds around the family and has come back to DD1 who loves it. Trouble is, it's PVC coated cotton and it's split a bit down the front where it's been folded too many times. Is there anything I can get to fix it? Some sort of paint on PVC stuff or something?

You can buy liquid clear pvc sealer for filling in holes and covering table tops may be this would work.

Is it flexible once it's dried?

sorry not sure my dads only ever used it on solid items

I'm guessing a strip of carpet tape down the back would spoil it too much. Is great for mending wterproof things though that have to be flexible.
