Tips to defrost a freezer (part of a fridge freezer) the quickest and least messiest way? Every time I've done it, the floor in the itchen ends up soaked.

When I do mine, I put old towels in the bottom and on the floor in front of it. It leeks a bit, but I'm not sure there is an easy way!

Big shallow tray under the front bit, empty before it fills too much.

I used to use a hair dryer to melt it while it was still switched on, apparently its not good to do that .

Towel on the bottom, and at the front. Roasting tin on the towel to catch the majority of the water - remember to empty it every so often. Large bowl of hot water inside speeds up the defrosting.
