How do i clean my front loader washing machine?

Hi,

Recently my front loader washing machine has a really bad mouldy smell coming from it. I haven't put anything different in my washing machine recently just the childrens clothes which have the usual dirt, grime and mud stains. Am using Persil detergent at the moment. This is really starting to worry me as it is a really bad odor, and starting and am starting to think that our clothes are not getting cleaned properly. I've briefly read about cleaning the rubber seal around the front of the washing machine but do i have to use a specific product to do this or what other things can i try to get rid of this mouldy smell?

Run the hottest wash you have with a squirt of bleach.

Re: the seal - I just got a damp microfibre cloth and jammed my hand into the groove of the front door seal, then ran it around. A lot of smelly brown gunk came out!

Run it empty on the hottest, longest wash with a squirt of bleach
Keep the door open between washes to let air circulate
Regular hot washes (60 degrees minimum) for sheets and towels
Use a powder detergent rather than a liquid
