Garage door - paint

Has anybody got their garage door painted?

My garage door is white and the paint is flaking/peeling. One section is grey.. it looks awful.

I need to get it repainted from a professional.

Any advice as to who I go to?

The reason for the flaking paint is probably because the paint used previously wasn't garage door paint which you really need for a flawless and long wearing finish. Ordinary, gloss, satin or whatever will just flake off eventually.

You really need to sand down or strip off old paint, then add a base coat recommended for the garage door paint you choose.

Any experienced exterior decorator should be able to quote for this. Garage door paint you can buy very easily from Homebase, B & Q etc.

It has never occurred to me that there's such thing as garage door paint.

I have two garage doors, the roller kind where surfaces flex and have had no trouble with standard exterior acrylic. This is with piercing Aussie sun (but no frost)
