Steam mops, worth it? Vax one on sale in Aldi at £30

I nearly bought it yesterday but wasn't sure if it was worth the money. I used to have a cleaner who I paid £20 a week to so my justification is now I am doing the cleaning the mop will quickly have paid for itself! We only have carpets in one bedroom and stairs and landing, so plenty of hard floors to clean. Would love to hear opinions on whether it is worth the money, or whether a good old mop and bucket is just as good!

Yes. And I wish you'd posted this an hour ago! Mine has just broken and I've just ordered one off Amazon...! They are brilliant though, I honestly wouldn't be without mine now as sad as that sounds.

Yes they're good - had about 3 or 4 models over the years.

For me personally, they will never replace a mop and bucket for a really good clean, but they do a perfectly more than adequate job day to day/week to week.

Got a Vax one currently (came free with a Vax vacuum), more than worth £30.
