Children's day-glow putty stuff on carpet - HELP!

Does anyone have any top tips on how to get it out please? It's that putty stuff that bounces. It must have been smuggled in without my knowledge. Arrrrgh!

I'd treat it as chewing gum...you can get specialised products, but I'm sure someone on here will have a top tip or handy hint. Isn't ironing over brown paper or something a way round it?

Yes, I wondered about the ironing thing - as you would get candle wax out of a carpet? Does anyone know? Am so nervous as it's a rented place!
