Landlord visit

Landlord is coming on Thursday to check the house, but I need to tidy and clean everything first! What would be your priorities? We've rented lots of different properties and this is the first ever check we've had to do, so not quite sure what to expect!

I wouldn't worry too much. They will be checking the structure. We had feedback when it was being checked and a report emailed. Basically said that they aren't looking for clean and tidy as long as it's not in a horrific state.
He checked the windows opened and closed, tested smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarm. Just things like that. Asked if we were having any problems and took a picture of the problem.
Good job they weren't looking for tidy as both my kids were home!

I would try to look around my home objectively and ask myself whether there's anything which, if I owned it myself, would make me feel it wasn't being looked after. Other than that I would just want it 'visitor tidy'.

Ok thanks! I realise I need to move a thing or two around the window areas, as we can access them but maybe not as easily as they'd expect!
Luckily one DC will be at school, and I'll have to put the other DC in front of the TV so she doesn't mess things up!
