I have moved into a house which has black kitchen gloss doors and also walnut gloss doors.

Word of advice for anybody buy a new kitchen don't purchase black gloss doors because you will see fingerprints on them regularly and also stains formed from water falling on the doors outside.

I am constantly cleaning mine because they always look dirty. I probably have to clean them every 2nd or 3rd week

Just giving you a heads up

I've always thought they were hideous and the choice of blokes who fancy themselves as property developers on Homes Under the Hammer. Usually paired with black or red tiles. You want a kitchen to look clean and black doesn't do that. Could you replace the doors?

BusyBee2017 · 08/05/2017 15:44

Don't get me wrong the kitchen is lovely ... it's got granite worktop and clear tiles behind the cooker...

Just have to clean the doors a lot more regularly than other doors.

I may have to look at changing the doors but don't want to spend the money at the moment. When we extend we will change the kitchen then

Use window cleaner on them. I have black appliances ( because I'm an impulsive fool ) they look lovely if I use that. No smears etc.

Yeah I clean them with window & glass cleaner every 2 weeks if they are really bad otherwise it's 3/4 weeks.

I remember at my inlaws house I bought gloss cleaner which finished in one use, but they have got a big kitchen. After that I just used window and glass cleaner

I've got black gloss bits to my kitchen (hob, glittery splashback to hob and fan thing over hob) I clean them once a week with my Karcher Window Vac thing.

BusyBee2017 · 08/05/2017 22:29

Gosh never even thought about using the marcher window vac I've got it in the garage never used it

Oh okay so it happens with non gloss doors too.. good to know

mumgointhroughtorture · 08/05/2017 23:10

Could be worse you could have the black glittery floor tiles to match, I can imagine THOSE are hard work to keep clean !!

BusyBee2017 · 08/05/2017 23:16

Very true! My mother in law has cream gloss tiles with glossy cream cupboards
Every time I mopped the floors they would be left with awful streaks when using the mop, steam cleaner! Awful
