French linen care

I've just bought some French linen bedding and having trouble finding suitable washing powder or gel.
Care instructions read "When washing French Linen please ensure that you do not use any products containing bleach. Bleach is not a friend to linen fibres as it destroys their strength and will most certainly affect the colour of your linen. Always check for bleach or bleaching agents in detergents and optical brighteners to avoid damage to the fabric. Always use the best detergent for the product you are washing: for colour fabrics it is best to use washing gels or detergents formulated for colours and for pure whites, stick to powders."

Any advice much appreciated.

Just look at the list of ingredients and choose one that doesn't include "bleaching agents" or "optical brighteners". Most likely one of the 'colour' detergents.

If you look at the list of ingredients in this 'normal' detergent you'll see bleaching agents and optical brighteners:

whereas this one is for coloured clothing and doesn't have them:

(Other brands are available!)
