Water spots on dishes in dishwasher

I have started to put plastic cutlery in the dishwasher and bottles because there are so many to wash.

But after they are washed there are water spots and they look dirty when they dry up.

Why do I get those water spots?

Because plastics don't retain heat and therefore don't dry effectively in the dishwasher unlikely metals and crockery. These means the water on them doesn't evaporate in the same way and they either don't dry thoroughly or you get water spots.

Thanks for that information.

Looks like there is nothing I can do about that then lol
