Laundry balls?

Does anyone use those laundry balls in their washing machine instead of detergent? What do you think? Do they clean as well as washing powder? I'm thinking of giving them a go. Also, what is the proper name for them please?! Thank in advance

I have tried the Ecoeggs, and the cheap alternative, but neither are very good on their own.

I now use them as a laundry boost with powder, extra washing power, but they are not good enough by themselves.

I tried them for a while. Clothes seemed clean, though anything stained needed something more. After a while my clothes seemed bobbled and faded, I wouldn't use them again.

I bought an eco egg from Lakeland and I wasn't impressed at all. The "clean linen" fragrance faded after 2 or 3 washes, my clothes looked clean (but I don't have kids or a partner with stained clothes or dirty work wear), but all the laundry had an unpleasant smell to it, it just smelled damp and foisty even when it was tumble dried.
I only used it about 8 or 9 times and I meant to take it back to Lakeland to get a refund but I forgot.

I'm quite happy with the eco egg. we used min bio previously and its about the same. still use stain remover as necessary. I nrver used fabric softener due to eczema, so we never had that beautifully smelling laundry anyway.

Thanks kriss . Like you, I currently use non-bio and don't bother with softener. Maybe it is worth a try after all?
