I keep mine in the fridge and they stay fresh for ages in there.

In the fridge but if theres no room, they go in the bottom of a cupboard.

BettySpaghetti · 10/03/2007 16:51

We keep a huge paper sack of them in the workshop (cold, dark) and then just bring in some when needed and store them in a big terracotta jar in the bottom of a kitchen cupboard. They still sprout though.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 10/03/2007 16:56

in the cupboard ina basket

themoon66 · 10/03/2007 16:59

In a box in the bottom of the fridge, with a single apple amongst them to stop them sprouting.

stleger · 10/03/2007 17:13

Does the apple work?

chenin · 10/03/2007 17:14

On Ready Steady Cook the other day they had two Potato farmers as contestants.

Both said you should never keep potatoes in the fridge because they actually 'shiver' and it spoils their taste.

I have this mental picture now of poor little potatoes shivering in the cold!

We buy ours by the 55lb. sack and keep them in the garage... but it is cold in there!

themoon66 · 10/03/2007 17:19

Yes the apple definitely works.
