Poo on sofa

Actually on a cotton throw, which is now in the washing machine, but it was...runny...and some of the liquid must have seeped through the throw, leaving a mark on the sofa. Which is also cotton-covered. Any tips?

Is it a fabric sofa? Scotch guard?
Soda crystals mixed with warm water work wonders when solution is left for a little while then sponged out, and also Rug Doctor do a poo/spill cleaner that is really fab (about £7 from supermarkets that hire rug docs). A
