Tumble dryer

Evvy543 · 01/04/2017 12:59

I want to buy a tumble dryer but I know nothing about them as I have never had one.
I don't want to pay more than 200 pounds for a dryer.
Any recommendations of type/where to look/buy?

Have a look on ao.com, we have bought 3 big items from them over the last year and I was impressed with how easy they are to deal with.

What do you need - vented or condenser? Vented dryers tend to be quicker, cheaper and quieter but you need to be able to vent them out a window or through a specially made vent through the wall

According to Which the cheapest Best Buys are:

Zanussi ZDC8202P £299
Bosch WTA74200GB £259
White Knight ECO43A £292

Most of their Don't Buys are around the £200 mark, and none of them under that price are recommended - mostly Hotpoint and Indesit.

Thank you.
I saw a brand new vented one for 180 pounds, that was a hotpoint one. Ashcott appliances website. Do you think this would be decent?
I'd prefer vented.

I subscribe to Which so if you see another one you are interested in I will look it up for you and tell you what they think.

Unfortunately you do get what you pay for and Which don't recommend any that are under £200. Can you get interest free credit on a better quality one?

wowfudge · 02/04/2017 23:02

Which? aren't aren't recommending any Whirlpool brands at the moment, no matter how well they have performed in tests, due to the tumble dryer farago. Though I have to say we used to have one and it was fine.

Dont get a hotpoint one!!!!!
Bosch best off that list

Iamastonished · 03/04/2017 19:10

I rate Bosch as well. All of our white goods are Bosch.

We have a Beko condenser one, it's been really fab. Would have gone for vented but we didn't have anywhere to stick a vent.

Vagndidit · 04/04/2017 10:12

We also have a Beko condenser. It's fab. Got it at John Lewis for £225.
