vacuum cleaner sent on the naughty step!

HELP! It,s driving me up the wall!
throwing things out backwards, wont pick up.
can only use it with the hose! aaaahhhhh

is it an upright? if it's not picking up but the hose worksd then it sounds like the belt's gone that drives the blades on the front around. it's quite simple to change with a screw-driver, you can buy them from the vacuum cleaner bag secyion in hardware shops.

Unless it's a bagless and needs the filters cleaning? My Hoover is RUBBISH and wants cleaning every five minutes or just cuts out and i've jad about enough of it, would recommend Electrolux though.

Have checked the belt,fine!
cleaned every filter i know about!
talked nicely to it!
pleaded with it!
it still won't work for me.
confession time:
Did have a slight accident when first got it, my sons trousers got pulled into the brushes when using the hose attachment and burnt a couple of the bristles! but nothing too major that would stop it working.????????

Had to use the dustpan to clean the living room carpet.now i need a good massage!!!!
