Dog has vomited poo.....

All over my Persian rug. He is a poo eater and obviously over indulged on his walk this morning and has vomited dog poo all over my Persian rug.

I have used a pet stain and odour remover and scrubbed with diluted bio washing powder and then rinsed. It's drying so still darker than rest of rug but I don't think I've shifted it yet. Any other strategies ? If it stays as it is it's completely ruined but I couldn't bear to throw it out as my Dad bought it for me all the way from Iran.

Hire a professional. Have a Google of carpet cleaners in your area and get them in, they know lots of tricks and have a tonne of experience. We had one who managed to get a pool of dried blood out of a cream carpet, I was very impressed!

If you don't go down the carpet cleaner route, I always take fairy washing up liquid to things like this. Diluted in piping hot water with a bit of vanish. Has gotten blood, sick and ink out of carpets.

Up to you what you are willing to risk although I've never had any problems with fading etc

Thanks none, have just scrubbed with fairy and some vanish. Feeling a bit more optimistic but think I won't know if all out until tomorrow when it's properly dry. Thank god it's so heavily patterned and dark in colour otherwise it would have been far worse. Bloody dog !
