I just cannot get this blimming stain out -candle wax grease

I have ironed the wax off onto kitchen towels and then washed. Big stain that was still a bit crunchy. On the advice of the internet they recommended pouring boiling water on it to get rid of the rest of the wax and then running a washing up liquid into it and washing. Did that, its no longer crunchy at all but still have a big grease mark on it.

I'm assuming I'm going to have to bin it but before I do has anyone got any other tips I would try.

Thank you!

Try ironing over it with brown paper?

Rubbing it, that should have said.

The iron gives me nothing more unfortunately. It now just seems to be a grease stain set into the fibres i assume.

I removed diesel oil marks from white cotton by spraying the oily bits with WD40. Swarfega is good too. Spray the WD40 on the grease stain and leave it for an hour (you can put some stiff cardboard behind the marked area.)
Then rub some biological detergent in and wash it about 60 degrees.
