Problem with my vacuum cleaner

A couple of years ago I got a Miele cat & dog C2 cleaner. It's been quite good, for a vacuum cleaner :)
Yesterday I got it out & plugged it in, and it started up as soon as I switched on the power at the plug. The on/off switch on the body of the vacuum doesn't appear to be working.
I could carry on and use it as it is, although it's a bit of a pain. Or I could get it fixed. Does anyone know if it's an expensive business, to fix one of these things? I've not had a Miele machine of any kind before so no experience with this company.
Thanks.

As far as I know Miele themselves only do one flat rate service and repair for £90 whatever is wrong with your machine. I looked into it recently and sent mine in. Personally I wouldn't want to pay that for just a faulty switch but that's up to you. They include a full service and repair or replace any faulty or damaged parts, for that price.
