Dog, ahem, 'stuff' on leather!?

Sorry that this is a bit gross, but I need suggestions please Confused

When my dog shakes, any 'juice' that might be on the end of his penis flicks off onto surrounding surfaces. We're talking smegma here. Bless him....!

The marks won't come off of my leather sofas. Obviously I've cleaned the actual substance off, but there are still little marks. I've tried leather cleaner, baby wipes, Zoflora (of course, this is Mumsnet) and Dettox.

Any other ideas?

Oh my god I feel so naive I had no idea this happened... brb rehoming boy puppy (that's a joke, before I get leapt on) I hope you get some good advice, I'll be following this thread so I'm ready when it happens to us

Henriefta007 · 11/03/2017 10:21

I thought it was only my beastly boy that did this Shock never got it on the couch so I don't know how to help I'm afraid!

wineusuallyhelps · 11/03/2017 10:22

Aah isuppose, how lovely for you. Even though my boy does this (and worse), nothing could stop me loving him to bits!

I wonder if it only happens in unneutered males? My boy hasn't been 'done' yet.

Saddle soap? Will condition the leather and replace lost moisture.

MinisWin · 11/03/2017 10:32

I can confirm this is definitely an unneutered male dog thing 🙄. speaks from bitter experience

isupposeitsverynice · 11/03/2017 10:59

Oh thank god for that - we have just had him done and just in the nick of time too as older girl dog came into heat as he came back from the vets! (I am massively amused by watching him hump her ear - I don't suppose he'll ever get the hang of it now Grin)

ChinUpChestOut · 11/03/2017 11:23

I have a leather sofa and armchair with lots of stains from my Beagle who likes to stretch himself out and wipe the sofa with his tummy and undercarriage. I thought he was the only one who did it...

Has anyone tried saddle soap yet? Did it work?

Envy

Can't be purely down to being un-neutered; I have intact male dog and have never had to deal with this.

wineusuallyhelps · 11/03/2017 12:18

Saddle soap - thank you!

LOL agent!! Dogs aren't for everyone, ha ha!

This is the dog that ejaculates by the way. I did another thread about that 😂

Still not as bad as kids' behaviour 😂

Have you tried an enzyme cleaner from a pet store? Simple Solution might well remove it, made for removing pet stains and smells, urine, vomit and very probably other 'stuff'.
